Why each day I have to go in to UPnP AV SERVER SETTINGS and hit Refresh in order for my PS3 to recognize the UPnP server? I am 90% sure this is NOT my PS3 acting up because it pick up my other server at home. How come I have to manually refresh UPnP server through DNS-323 admin login, everyday in order for it to appear on PS3? This is getting on my nerves and I am thinking about returning the DNS-323 for a refund. ???
Is there anyway to make it automatically refresh? I have hardware version C1 with Firmware Version: 1.09.

I'm with you on that.
I've got the same problem, and have given up hope.

Funny thing is I have everything D-link and even though my NAS is new, I don't have time to call Tech support because I am too busy :) So, it is good to know that I am not the only one who has this issue. (Otherwise, I would assume there is a problem with my unit itself)
THANK YOU for your reply and I hope someone from D-Link respond to this thread soon.

If I understand your post correctly, the PS3 doesn't "see" your dns-323. Mine does this as well - I'm sure they all do from time to time, but a refresh of the UPnP server is not what you should be doing. It is likely that the HDDS are just hibernating.
When my PS3 doesn't see one of my 323's I do one of 4 things (in order from quickest to longest fix) :
1. "search for media server" in PS3 (quickest fix)
2. Go into PS3 network settings and do an internet connection test
3. On a pc, map a drive on the 323 and navigate through the folders to get the hard drives out of hibernate, and then do step 1.
4. Login to the 323 and reboot it. Then do step 1 (longest)
The only time you have to refresh UPnP server is if you add new media, or media playback isn't working/DLNA errors.

Ι have 1.08 firmware and I use the nas as a media server but not with a ps3. No need to refresh at all. works fine. It is either the ps3 or the 1.09 version.

Thanks McPillager and TJ,
I think we can narrow the main problem this way.... I hope someone with a lower firmware version and PS3 post their comments on here. I think this is likely caused by the firmware NOT the PS3 because PS3 recognized my other home built Samba server.

Nope the following didn't work at all:
1. "search for media server" in PS3 (quickest fix)

I had to refresh EVERY time I need to watch something on PS3 even though there are no new media files at the first place. I am returning on of my DNS 323s and going to buy Seagate BlackArmor NAS 400

Very strange. Maybe you just got a bad box? Try upgrading the firmware (I'm using 1.10 beta without issue on two 323s), reset to factory settings, manually re-enter settings...
Sorry I couldn't help you more Eric-Tom.

I actually bought twonky about a week ago. best 15 euros spent so far. got some good pointers and good startup script for it and it works like a charm now. updates happen within minute or two.
I'm using 1.08 fw, transmission 2.21, twonky 6.0.31-RC6.

The issue is with Sony's new PS3 software update released for North America (Canada/US) and I am 100% sure about this after testing with bunch of my friends.

I dunno, I'm in North America also and my PS3 is up to date. Hopefully the new media server in 1.10 will solve this for you.
