Title: Shareport with Canon MF3240
Post by: spincel on March 16, 2011, 12:09:40 PM
Okay I just recently purchased new DIR-655 router. I cannot find the Shareport Utility 3.0 in the support page so I decided to download from other support router page. After installed the program, it detected my printer, but the name of the printer is not correctly. It showed MF3200 instead of 3240. However, when I tried to connect it, the program ran long time then did nothing after all. I don't know if it my fault because I did cancel the installing driver because it took so long to finish it, but it can recognize the printer which means the router successfully installed the driver. My computer runs Windows 7 x64 and the printer worked well when I hooked the USB into my computer. Please give me some step to resolve this.

Hi. some things that might help:

first, try making sure you can print to the printer when connected directly with USB to make sure the driver is working properly. SharePort will show whatever the USB port of the router sees, so I wouldn't worry too much about the series.

Check in the HELP for SharePort about connecting to printers.
