Title: Help! Ubuntu 10.10 won't stay connected!
Post by: tylerkess on March 24, 2011, 07:47:12 AM
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 and I can't stay connected to the internet. I have wireless internet access for about 10 seconds but then it drops. Access to the router doesn't go away though. I can still log in to it and change settings and all that, but I can't access the internet through it. I also can't ping the router... Any ideas?

Edit: If I connect via ethernet, I don't have the problem. It's only wireless.

Try changing the WiFi mode to Single mode G or Mixed G and N and test...
Ensure the Wireless card drivers are up to date for the PC your using?
What FW version is loaded on the 4500?
What HW version is it?

Do you have other wireless computers on your network, and if so, do they have the same problem? And what IP are yoiu pinging, and what does it say when you try?
