Title: Anyways to configre my DWA-160 frequency/channel or connection?
Post by: datab0y on January 17, 2009, 07:15:02 PM
Are there anyways to configure my DWA-160 to have a better connection like changing its frequency/channel if possible? I can't connect to my neighbor's DIR-615 router but I can connect to my DIR-655.

On the other hand, my laptop was able to connect to my neighbor's DIR-615 without any troubles. So right now, I can't seem to figure out why my desktop's DWA-160 is unable to connect my neighbor's internet even though my laptop can. Only possibilities are to change the frequency or channel of the my DWA-160 adapter but then how do I do that? Can anyone tell me?

I dont think this has anything to do with the adapter, or least likely.

Connection depends all on your neighbors settings.

ie: mac filtering, operating mode, Encryption settings.

Difference in settings between the dlink adapter and your laptop adapter.

ie: operating mode, connection settings which include operating mode, encryption.
