I had to return mine because it was such a mess. And I've seen others had trouble also. And for people that order this router online it's not as easy as it was for me to take it back to BestBuy and find A3 version.
-
I think the router should be recalled altogether this thing seems to be nothing more than a big headache...
-
The A3 one also doesnt look good. I just returned mine to RMA. And just got a new Linksys WRT610N, works perfectly without any "tweaking"...

It's your choice what to publish on the board, but IMHO you should contact Dlink directly with these kind of comments. I am not expressing any opinion on the A4 or A3 models, but these messages are fully unsubstantiated personal opinions, and have nothing to do with the purpose of the board.
If you choose to use the board you might want to go into more detail, comparing a Linksys ("it works without tweaking") is not really considered a solid basis such a strong opinion.

I have a A3 and it works fine without any "tweaking" as you call it.
I am running all defaults except I have disabled DNS relay and setup security for wireless.

I'm using the A3 and the majority of the things seem to work fine. I made changes to suit my network needs and they all went good.
Just investigating VPN, I get drop outs when I VPN to my work place. (Resolved Now)
