I have a question about using my Dlink 4100 Router with my PS3. I have firmware 1.7, using Road Runner for Internet. I use my PS3 online for downloading PSN items ONLY, I don't play multi-player online games. I am trying to configure Gamingfuel for my PS3, but do I do that if I am only downloading? If I do, I have seen on the internet how to create rules on a 4500, but not on a 4100. I just wasn't sure how much of a difference GF makes if you are not playing online games. If we could start from scratch I would appreciate it. I don't think the gaming fuel rule I tried making based off the information from the web would work for the 4100. Thanks for your time, and any help I could get is appreciated in advance.

Check out the gamefuel rule sticky over in the DGL-4500 forum. There one for PS and XBL.

Okay, I did that. On the part where you set the gaming rule, where it shows 256, when I did that it told me that was out of range. Also, where you choose ANY next to that, it keeps telling me I have to choose between TCP, UCP, etc. and I'm not sure what to choose on that. Also, it mentions the anti-spoofing item box and there isn't one on the 4100. The set up is close but not quite the same as on the 4100. Also, will it help me speed up downloading items? Thanks for the reply.

What ISP service do you have? DSL or Cable?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand alone or does it have a built in router as well?
The 256 is the protocol number that is set by what you pick in the drop down window to the right of it. You should have to pick this number, there should be a few options there in the drop down menu, ANY, ICMP, TCP and UDP. Try clearing the number box then select ANY. This should fill in the number box for you. If there isn't a Anti-Spoof option on the 4100 then skip that step.

I have a Cable Modem through Road Runner. I have a stand alone, no built in router. I will try this today and let you know how it works. Thanks.

OK, your cable modem should be good to go.
