Title: Unable to completely install Sharepoint network usb utility software

Software will not completely install on windows xp professional version-sp3
also running Window One Care
history : installed sharepoint driver back in Nov 08... and could never get HP printer to work.. so put printer back on dedicated pc... running right two wired pcs from router... DIR-655...

When running install on non printer dedicated pc...receive error message:

installation is incomplete. please reinstall again..

tried repair and remove to no help
removed thru ... "add and remove Programs".. no help
shut down one care firewall and virus. removed shared printer from one care --- still no help.

Requesting info to solve install road block

haven't seen this one ever before, and I've installed and reinstalled numerous times. You might need to do some manual deinstallation.

You might want to get into a Windows forum. You can also manually delete the two Dlink .sys files (c:\windows\system32\drivers), but your reinstall might be blocked because of registry entries still present.

removed One Care completely from pc...
removed DLink divers ...
performed registry clean...

still no share port installation...still same message

Check whether you have full admin access or log on as 'Administrator'. You need that for the drivers to install correctly.

I finally have the Share Port up and running on all of my home pc's...
don't ask how I got it goin... not for sure... but on reboot of pc.. it opened... but after reinstalling
Window Live One Care...firewall was shutting program down...
found in Windows One Care Forum... My answer to set the firewall up to accept Share Port..

Note:... only need to add USB Protocol 6....not the other ports
