Title: How to connect LinkSys wps54gug, a remote wireless G print server?
Post by: jervolpe on April 12, 2011, 05:57:38 PM
My DIR-655 is setup and working fine with WPA personal encryption to different laptops in my home network. Question: Can I connect a wireless print server (LinkSys WPS54GU2) that only supports 'G' wireless encryption?

Can the DIR-655 support a mixed N and G network?

Do I have to reconfigure my DIR-655 to the slower WEP encryption and create an entirely 'G' network to include one G network device?

I've been retired from IT for about six years now and just not familiar enough with this technology, so an assist would be greatly appreciated.

You can have mixed G and N,  check the manual for the print server to see if you can use WPA/WPA2 with it. The 655 support mixed networks, you only have to change to WEP if the print server doesn't support WPA.
