DIR-655 wireless works great with all other wireless devices in the house except for my HP Pavillion dv2000.
My HP's wireless card is Broadcom 4321AG 802.11 a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter. The laptop runs on window Vista Home Premium 64-bit operating system. DIR-655 is REV 1B firmware 2.0
Here is the problem. The connection and the network show up with all full bars on my network sharing center but when I try to connect to the router it takes a long time and then it says "can't connect to (SSID)". When diagnosing the problem, Vista tells me that it cannot get any response from the router.
I tried all the combination of network setting b/g/n and different security types (no security, WEP, WPA, WPA2) but nothing helped.
What should I do now?

If you tried other modes and with out security, might be the adapter is bad. It should see and auto connect to the router at single mode G with out any security.

I don't think it is the router since two other vista laptops, one iMAC, and one iPod touch worked with the wireless signal. I think it might be some incompatibility issue with the wifi card on my HP laptop.

I would try this LT on a different router if you can, friends or nieghbors and check. Might get you a external USB WiFi adaptor to test on this LT and see if you can get it connected. Does the wired connection of this LT work when connected to the router?
