Title: Dlink loses Bridge connection when powered down/up
Post by: wayneh on April 17, 2011, 08:42:55 AM
It took a while but I've had my 1522 running well for several days.
However, if I power down and then power up the 1522, it never reconnects.
The bridge mode light flashes 5 times, then - nothing.

So, I have to disconnect everything, bring the 1522 back to my main PC, attach it,
let it connect properly, then unattach and re-attach at it's use site.

ANNOYING!

Any one have any ideas how to solve this?

(I'm using a static IP address and a Cisco E3000 router working perfectly with all my other stuff. Firmware v1.31)

THANKS!

Never mind - I figured it out!

It seems that you MUST have something powered on and connected to the 1522 when
you power cycle the 1522 or it won't establish a link.

So for example I connected my DVD player, turned it on, then power cycled the 1522 and it re-established it's bridge.

This is really STUPID.
The 1522 is a 'stand-alone' device - why must something else be connected and powered on?
