hi all,
i have a imac OS 10.6.7 i cannot get time machine to see the DNS343, time machine is looking for a wireless HD and the DNS343 is wired into a switch which is wired into a router, I'm using the DNS343 to backup a PC using the included SW Farstone with no problems but the mac is not seeing the DNS343 as a HDD.
the DNS343 shows up in finder under the Shared heading the imac HDD shows up under the Devices heading not sure what this means but this is the way it is displayed in finder, i have installed NTSF for mac OS X hoping it would force the mac to see the DNS343 as a HDD but no such luck when i open NTSF for mac up it does not see the DNS343 either,
any suggestions how i can get the mac/time machine to see the DNS343
imac OS - 10.6.7
imac - hard wired into DGL-4500 router
DNS343 - ver 1.03
DNS343 hard wired into a DGS-1008D switch which is hard wired into a DGL-4500 router
thanks so much for your time and effort

@fast1, TM is not supported officially. You need to install Fonz Fun Plug (FFP). If you've not heard about FFP, you can read it here: http://wiki.dns323.info/howto:1st_steps (applies to 343 too). After you've FFPed, then check out http://www.noulakaz.net/weblog/2009/11/02/installing-avahi-and-afp-on-the-dns-323/ for TM. Did it when I was on OSX.6.4, that was last year, now on X.6.7 and still working.
