Title: Problem with firmware upgrade
Post by: mb02155 on April 22, 2011, 02:40:46 PM
Hello,

I attempted to perform a firmware upgrade on my dir-685 and it appears to have not worked.   When I reboot the device it just sits at the initial D-Link screen.  I am not able to access the device via the network to retry the upgrade.  I have been told it is possible to try the upgrade again via the USB port (maybe using a flashdrive), but I can't find the instructions.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Marty

Can you hit the reset button in back and do a factory reset by chance to get it back?

Possbile that his unit is bricked. I would call up DLink and see if they can help or start an RMA process. Let us know how it goes.
