Title: No need to enter password ???
Post by: trichard on April 23, 2011, 06:41:14 AM
I have setup the DNS-320 and created user account.

When i go to the user PC , I map a drive to the \\NASNAME\VOLUME_1

It open straight away .... no need password ...

Why is it so ?

Why would it prompt for password when default setup is R/W access for all users.

After you created your user account(s), did you setup the network access?

Expanding on my last post.  Creating a user name/password combination is only the first step.  Next you must specify the directories and R/W permissions for the users you created in step one.  Finally, you need to make sure there is no global r/w access (as this will override any limiting access defined at the user level).
