Title: Microsoft Update downloads stall on wireless....
Post by: Sammydad1 on April 26, 2011, 06:39:07 AM
Using Windows 7, I am seeing Larger downloads/updates stall especially coming off Microsoft Windows Update such as Win 7 SP1....

But it isn't limited to only Microsoft downloads, as it will happen if I use the Testmy.net 200MB download test.  My wired clients run fine....

I know it didn't do this in the past....but it does it now....

Anybody else see this behavior ?

Does it happen over Single mode G or N?
How about changing from 40Mhz to 20Mhz?
I presume it doesn't happed over a wired connection?

Hi,

My wired connections run fine....  But I have seen the stall syndrome on a client's system using a wired connection.....It makes me think there is sometype of issue with Microsoft Update with Windows 7 clients....

And it seems to most obvious with their large updates....like a service pack....

I have seen that before. Specially with SPs. Its always recommended to DL the SP to the Desktop and load from there.
