We have a DFL-800 with the 2.27 firmware, and we have it set up to failover from our WAN1 to our WAN2 when our WAN1 goes down.
Can I set it up to send an email alert when it fails over, and when it returns back to WAN1?
I see I can set up an SMTP event receiver, and I found a topic in the manual about enabling email alerts for IDS events, but I'm not sure how to set up an email alert just for failover. Is that possible?
Thanks,
Chris Vesper

i use a snmp and icmp monitoring program to get email alerts
sometimes get alerts directly from the equipment to audit its not a good idea because if the equipment lost connectivity with public internet you dont get the email notification until connectivity its restored in the best of cases and that is not the idea.
Monitoring from other site of the net with independent public connectivity its a best way to know when happened a lost of connectivity

i use http://www.mikrotik.com/thedude.php for monitoring.
You will need a smtp server to enable email notifications
