I've been trying to connect my home computer to my office router using PPTP. The dial-up screen stops when trying to verify username and password then disconnect. Below is the descriptions of the environment:
- My home computer is running on Windows Vista Ultimate SP1
- My home router has been configured to allow VPN Passthrough
- Port 1723 is opened on my home router
- My office doesn't have static IP so I signup Dynamic DNS service
I would like to know if I did something wrong and thanks in advance for any help.

If the DIR-330 your router or is it behind your router?
(These assume it is behind your router)
What is your router?
Why is your DIR-330 behind your router?
What is the LAN Net on your DIR-330?
What is the LAN Net on your router?
What settings do you have set for your PPTP Profile?

The DIR-330 is located at my office.
At home I'm using a Linksys router.
Sorry for the mixed up...

If you connect directly at home (minus router) can you dial in?
What are your full PPTP settings, most notably NAT-T?
-
I'm not sure what is NAT-T.
Here's my settings for the DIR-330 at my office:
- Connection Type: PPTP
- VPN Server IP: 192.168.1.1 (DIR-330 IP)
- Remote IP range: 192.168.1.110 - 120
- Authentication Protocol : MSCHAP v2
- MPPE Encryption Mode : 128bit
Settings for my Linksys router at home:
- Port 1723 forwareded to my desktop
- UPNP enabled
-
Ignore the NAT-T I had myself turned around, it is an IPsec setting.
Can you connect minus your home router?
