I have read through all of the posts concerning WD. Instead of coming away with a solid understanding as to whether it works with the 320 or not, it looks to me that it is iffy. I saw the pdf saying it is compatible and yet read about people having issues. Maybe it is user created or not. Now I am at the point of buying the DNS-320 and would like a confirmation as to whether the WD 2 TB Caviar Green SATA Intellipower 64 MB WD20EARS does indeed work with the DNS-320 or just looking at something else. Does the HD work with the 320?

I'm using two 1tb greens in mine with no issues whatsoever.

Thank you for your reply. I have seen that the 1 TB really isn't an issue. From what I gather, it is the 2 TB that has given some people problems.

I'm using to WD20EARS with no issues.
I have issues with the DNS 320, but the hard drives themselves are fine. The problems seem network and/or Windows 7 related.

I bought 1 used and 1 refurbished ST32000542AS and they have been OK in RAID1 for the past month. Failed the extended SMART test on one drive but I returned it and got an exchange and it is OK
They keep falling asleep even though I have HDD hibernation to disable

I've got one WD10EARS and WD15EARS drives, working in my DNS-320.
You will only need to watch the "Load Cycle Count" in the SMART Info.
If it gets too higher after a few time of use (like Load Cycle count over 5000, with just 130 power-on hours), consider using WDIDLE tool to disable parking heads.

I tried to use WD20EARS 2TB drive - DNS-320 can't format it :(it just stucks on format process
UPD: Problem was solved by re-upgrade the firmware (2.00) o__O
