Having some issues with my wireless connection which only seem to occur after 12-1AM, my signal according to windows 7 seems be lowered which results in anywhere from 2-10 seconds stall in service, sometimes even disconnecting me all together.
I get no issues during the day of any sort where i have 4+ other devices constantly using the router but I'm the only person in the house that uses the internet this late in the night so I'm completely stumped on what the problem could be.
Using the Dir-655 router with B1revision with 2.0 firmware, connected with an older wireless G adapter.
Any help would be appreciated

Check the Task Scheduler to see if any services are kicking in at that time.

I checked it, there's nothing even in there let alone it showing running anything in the last week. Also during the day i can have full torrents going and it doesn't disrupt anything so i'm hard pressed to think a little software update would do anything.

Hi westify,
Upgrade to version 2.01NA Firmware, if in the USA or Canada.
Also, have you givenm all your Wireless Devices including computers, an DHCP Reserved IP Address?

What saoftware update are you refering too?

Its not actually performing any updates, i was just saying that hypothetically if it was it wouldn't use anywhere near the bandwidth that torrents do.
Unfortunately the problem is now happening during the day as well, i'll try upgrading the firmware but there doesn't seem to be anything in the patch notes that seems like it would help

What Wireless modes are you using?
Try using single mode G or Mixed G and N?
Any other wifi router in the area?
Any house cordless phones?
What Is your QoS settings currently?
What is your ISP service? Cable or DSL?
What is your ISP modem? Stand alone or built in?

using mixed B/G/N, my computer is only G but others in the house have N support plus we have a Wii which i'm not 100% sure what that is. I'll try G/N only assuming it doesn't cut off the Wii
There's no other routers in the area (neighbors included) we have 2 2.4ghz cordless phones, 1 of which has the base right beside the router, would that cause issues even if nobody is using it?
I have 3 QoS settings for games i'm mostly on, dynamic fragmentation is off, traffic shaping and auto uplink speed is on, not using "WISH" if that matters.
Getting my internet from stand alone Motorola modem with no additional router/gateway built in

Its possible that the cordless phone could cause and issue. It will if someone is on the phone. Can you fully unplug the cordless phone thats closes to the router. Move the other as far away as possible. Was anyone on this phone when you noticed the connection issues?

Double checked because i've had issues with it before but only when it was in use, nobody was on any phone at the time of the problems, i can try unplugging and moving the base and see if it helps
