The audio is non-op in my D-ViewCam (3.1) application. "Enable Audio" is checked in the settings and I have audio in mydlink.com via the internet. Can someone explain how to correct this ???

Did you enable audio in the camera web GUI?
Settings -> Audio [Enable]

Yes but, it won't stay enabled (?) This is weird. I wonder if it's a browser (Firefox) issue?

This is probably obvious, but did you press "Save Settings" on the Camera web GUI (i.e. http://IP_ADRESS/audio.htm)?

I'm using Firefox 4 without issue. So basically, since you haven't been able to save audio settings on the DCS firmware, you've never heard any audio?
If the unit is under warranty, you should call D-Link customer support. They will walk you through the troubleshooting process. I assume that worst case they will have you reset to factory defaults and start over.
