I recently got the E4200 and i have to say the wireless is amazing (damn it 4500). Anyways, i know the DGL-4500 does not have a bridge/client function but i am trying to make it a LAN device, device is always offline and no connection for the devices connected to it.
I'm trying to create a network and have my devices communication with each other, some wired and others wireless. Currently, it only works when i have DHCP enable and using the routers default IP and result in two different networks. When i change the router IP to be in range with the E4200 and DHCP disabled everything goes dark. I can still access the router's web page and make changes but that's it.
Any ideas to help is much appreciated. Thanks

I have solved my issue... Instead of making the connection from the E4200 to DGL-4500 thru the internet port, i connected it thru the LAN port and voila!
But DHCP needs to be disabled and IP changed to be in line with the E4200.

Yes, correct since you disabled DHCP on the DGL 4500 you were trying to achieve a switch mode rather than a router, So you would have to connect the E4200 on the Lan ports of the DGL 4500 rather than the Wan port. I am glad you were able to accomplish it, happy networking :)
