I realize this only applies to the DCS-932L, but I would like to see an option in the web interface to adjust the sensitivity for the automatic switching between day and night mode. This should be relatively easy to program since the camera is already capturing this data and has a preset ambient light threshold to make the day/night mode transition.
The room I'm monitoring is perfectly visible in low light, but is below the ambient light threshold that automatically switches to night mode. I'm aware that I can manually adjust the day/night mode or schedule the switch-over. However, I would prefer a user defined sensitivity for the automatic transition between day and night mode.
While I'm on this topic, there should also be an option to delay the day/night switch-over to avoid the night mode flipping on and off whenever a cloud passes by, causing a temporary reduction in the ambient light level.

Also add: 1) automatic time/date synch with computer on camera ( at least DCS-930, DCS-932L) start-up/reboot and 2) change motion detection instructions to be more clear as to where motion is detected, in the checkered blocks or in the uncheckered blocks.

Since the DCS-930L is noted in adverts and documentation as a surveillance camera, and time stamps are critical to surveillance then the DCS-930L/932L cameras should include DST support as part of the firmware. The current firmware DOES NOT support DST, the only apparent fix to set the camera to an alternate time zone or manually set the time.

This may not be a firmware issue, but the DCS-930L and DCS-932L are in dire need of the ability to register on mydlink without having to walk through the Wizard on the CD, which requires configuring the device from scratch.

How about Motion Detector on a Schedule.
I want to send images to my FTP only when some motion is detected during a certain period of time (like only at night when my office is closed). Currently if you enable motion detector, the DCS-932L will always start sending images whenever it detects some something is moving. So in my case, if I am in the office during the day, every time I move it will send a bunch of images of me to my FTP. Not the way I want it.
So Dlink, please add this feature. Thanks.

I would like to have the opportunity to have time stamp on the images I take. Without this overlay, the images lack core content for a webcamera. Every webcam I have seen on the net has this...
Motion detection is also quite inaccurate on ftp-upload. I get alot of frames without movement, even when the sensitivity is set low. I don't know if it does by default like we can choose at the email feature (3 frames before and after movement), but it would be good to have it turned off. More than 50% of the images uploaded to my FTP-server are without interesting content...

The DCS-932L lacks a general robustness when it comes to maintaining a persistent connection. This may extend beyond a firmware fix, but is something that needs to be addressed.

From my own thread (http://"http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=40184.0"), I'd add:
Switch from telnet to ssh for command line access.

Wishlist:
- more timeframes in motiondetection schedule; per day and different schedules for each day
- timestamp on email alert pics
- ability to record motion alert videoclips on storage device connected to the router with pc switched off

The DCS-932L firmware update (v1.02 WW release) is only posted on the D-Link Taiwan site. I would like to see this firmware posted in the U.S. FTP repository. I don't know if this omission was an oversight or intentionally for other reasons.

I just visited the Taiwan site @ http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/downloads2008detail.asp (http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/downloads2008detail.asp) and V1.02WW is not listed ::)
I may be missing something ???

Well, it's Monday morning, so I'm permitted a few typos =)

I just upgraded the firmware* on two 932L's & one 930L with zero problems.....so far :o
* per previous suggestion, I unplugged all the camera's except for the one I was upgrading to be safe ;D
Thanks for all the tips and support ;)

I'm also rather astonished that my DCS-932L firmware upgrade is non-problematic, considering the firmware file is not openly distributed in the United States, only available on D-Link Taiwan, and there is no mention of an upgrade on any of the United States websites or literature. I suppose stranger things have happened.

for the person who wants motion detection on a schedule because they are in the office...
in the meantime, i leave the motion on. when i'm in the office i put a cap over the cameras and remember to take them off when i leave. i rarely forget. its a pain, but it works for me.
i'd like that option as well.

You pretty much summed up my experience cobbling together workable solutions to get my DCS-932L functioning properly.

24H time format would be great to have, in Europe we're not used to AM/PM :-\

Since D-Link established dedicated boards for the DCS-930L and DCS-932L, I'm locking this topic. Please see the firmware wishlist topics in the new DCS-932L and DCS-930L boards to post your contributions.
