I have a DNS-323 as well as the DNS-321 and want to upgrade to Hitachi 2TB AFT drives. Hitachi does not have the jumper-for-legacy-OSes option that the WDnnEARS drives do. The DNS-323 with 1.10Beta7 firmware now supports AFT drives so that part of it is taken care of but 1.03 firmware on the DNS-321 does not.
Is it hoping for too much to put new drives in the DNS-323, let them be partitioned with the correct alignment and then put them in the DNS-321 as a workaround?
Or will the DNS-321 want to repartition again?
Thanks.
