hey all,
my brother got a samsung galaxy s captivate yesterday to replace his pos iphone 3g on Rogers Wireless...
He wants to connect to the Dlink DIR-615's wifi to cut down on the data usage while at home on his 500mb per month data plan...
the ssid and the password are fine, but it hangs on the message "obtaining IP address..." which then after a while refuses to continue to connect and labels the connection "disabled"... the connection type is WPA2 AES something or other so as to guarantee wireless N connections for the xbox and my pc (the ps3 doesn't really do everything, it only does G not N lol)...
I am not familiar with the phone as it's not mine (someday maybe...) so maybe there is a setting i missed. I do know the router is not mac address restricted (meaning only certain computers are allowed to connect)...
anyone able to help me get this working?

What happens if you turn off security on the Wifi just to test, will the phone connect then?
Need to find out what wireless modes and security the phone supports, things like modes G or N. Security modes like WPA or WPA2 and TPIK or AES. Might try setting auto cipher and test. Phone might not support AES only. Let us know.

heh. reset the router and the phone worked. sometimes rebooting the phone instead works too. it sees the N network and the type of encryption (yet I cannot find it in the phone to tell you exactly)... it's working now and that's all that matters.
