Let me show you my network...

Cable Modem >>> wired>>> Main DIR-655 >>> wireless >>> DAP-1522 >>> wired 2nd DIR-655 as AP

First I should say that I have disabled DHCP Server and DNS Relay on the second 655.  Everything is working fine with wireless clients connecting to both 655s.  However, I have noticed that the MAC Filtering doesn't seem to be working correctly.  MAC Filtering is enabled on the first DIR-655, but although it passes the reserved ips down to the second DIR-655, it doesn't restrict access to only those MAC addresses enabled on the first DIR-655.  Has anyone been able to enable MAC filtering on the router and the AP allows/disallows access based on those MAC filters?

Shouldn't you input the MAC filtering on both 655's?

I tried MAC address filtering on the AP.  Regardless of whether it was turned on or not, it lets any client connect (with WPA2 credentials) with any MAC address.  Additonally, its not handled at the main router either.  I'll research further, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly.

One a different topic, when I use MAC address filtering on the AP, the AP apparently hands out new ip's than the ones that were designated from the main router.  Odd.

Currently I have...

DHCP Server unchecked
DNS Relay unchecked
SPI unchecked
don't know what to do with NAT.
MAC Address Filters are the same on both units.

Anything else I should do?

I would like the main router handle that, but WP2 AES on the second, I leave DNS Relay enabled and just have the DHCP Server disabled, create static IP address. Reserved that static IP in the main router.

I got MAC filters up and running.  Just needed to reboot both routers and bridge.

I really don't know what DNS Relay does.  When I tried to research it, I got equally as confused.  I read somewhere on here that they had disabled DNS Relay for the AP, so I did the same.  It's still enabled on the main router.  Any possiblility you can describe it in layman's terms?

DNS Client
(TCP)+(UDP)+(IP)+(Ethernet)

DNS Relay
(TCP)+(UDP)+(IP)+(Ethernet)+(WAN)

This acts of forwarder between DNS clients and DNS server.

DNS Server
(TCP)+(UDP)+(IP)+(WAN)
