Been running v1.21 (11/7/08) on the DIR-655 A3 for some time. This is for a friend and he hasn't made any comments. I wanted to check in and find out what was the best version of firmware for this router. I see they are all they way up to v1.35NA as of 12/28/10.

If it is working like you want , there is no need to change.

That's hard to tell as this guy doesn't complain much and I like to help him out. That's quite a jump in f/w and I see a couple of things that may make sense to update. So, unfortunately I don't know if it's working good or not.
The recommendation would still be helpful. Anyone?

Don't do it. I got 1.35NA on my A2 HW and I can't even get it accept anyother update, not even the 1.34NA version.
I managed to download another with A4 HW to 1.21 and all the problems I had accessing my security camera just went a away on using the exact same config file.
I *Sooooo* wished I had stayed at 1.21.
Thanks,
Ronst

Interesting. Why would u have stayed with 1.21? Or did you make a big leap from 1.21 to where u are now?

I have an A4 and it came with 1.32 and it had problems so I upgraded to 1.33 and it was OK for a while. After some time it to started acting up, So I used the downgrade route and went to 1.21 and all has been well ever since. I WILL NOT CHANGE FROM THIS FIRMWARE.

As long as no one hacks into your router then you are OK.
D-Link DIR Routers HNAP Security Bypass Vulnerability (http://secunia.com/advisories/38092/)
Was patched in 1.33 firmware.
Latest firmware is 1.35

Hi SBMongoos,
Why stay with 1.21? Because when you install a newer version from 1.21, you can't go back to Version 1.21 without difficulties.
Version 1.21 works just fine. To upgrade, just to upgrade is no valid reason to upgrade.
