I have read lots of discussions about Advance Format 4k per sector issue with NAS RAID1 configuration. I realy want to know if anybody has used Samsung F4 2TB drive in DNS 320 wit RAID1 config. Does it work error free with current firmware 2.0?
-
Me too. The best option is, buy 2tb hard drives and try it. If this is not working, return it.

Yeah....it'd be nice if they can release an updated compatibility list.
ftp://ftp.dlink.co.uk/dns/DNS-320/compat_list/ (http://ftp://ftp.dlink.co.uk/dns/DNS-320/compat_list/)
I, too, have two Samsung F2 drives but I'm on the fence to buy this product. The mod has stated (in another thread) that AFT drives are supported, but no official documentation supports that.

Im using two of those F2 Samsungs without problems (with a JBOD config)

AFT drive should work without problem including partition alignment on FW2.00

I just called D LINK Technical Support (not sure why I chose to do so) and asked them to contact a Product Specialist for NAS. I asked if the device supports AFT. He said it may work, but they do not officially support AFT. They asked me to try at my own risk. I didn't want to uppack two new 2TB F4 hard drives and decided to call UPS and send it back to newegg. I didn't want to take chance and pay any restocking fees and shipping fees. I am hapy with Hitachi now.

I use the comparable 2TB Version from Western Digital (WDEARS) which also uses AF.
I had absolutely no problems formatting and now using the HD. The NAS correctly notices the 4KB sectors and starts the partitition at sector 16 (can be divided by 4).
If you experience problems, you still could format the HD elsewhere and setting the correct sectors manually.

I have two F4 samsung running on my DNS 320 like a charm... I just had a format pb with 1.x drivers... Check you have latest 2.x driver and it's ok !
