Title: Changoing name of network without changing other settings
Post by: Salamander on June 12, 2011, 05:43:03 PM
Is it possible to log into the D-link admin page and change just the name of my wireless network, without having to re-enter the security key and other settings?

You should be able too, but you will need to go to all your wireless clients and redo their network settings to match the new SSID.  I have never tried it though.

I'm hoping to avoid having to change the name - I'm trying to network a wireless printer and it appears to not like the fact that my network name has a space between it's two words.  Or so the Samsumg tech person told me.

Can use the _ (underscore) between words sometimes.

Do you mean leave the network name as is (with a space), but use a _ when I try to connect the wireless printer?

Any change in your network name will require you to redo all the settings on any wireless clients that you have.

Furry is telling you to use an underscore instead of the space, My_Network instead of My Network.
