Title: Help ! Streaming prob.
Post by: lordradish on June 15, 2011, 04:37:20 AM
My DNS-323, latest firmware, 2 1 TB drives, has performed flawlessly until a few weeks ago. One drive, I keep my mp3's and avi's on to stream to different computers around the house, and the other is for backups.  For some reason, transfer rates have slowed down to unusable levels. I can't even stream mp3's, even with the wired computer, and it took 5 minutes to move a 3 meg file. I'm not running any special software on it or anything, and even tried a different router, to no avail. Where do I start to figure out what the prob is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oddly enough, when I first start up my drive, everything streams fine for several mins, then the logjam starts.  I notice when I click on an mp3, for example, I see the progress bar at the top of my window slowly creep up, as though it's searching for the file. I'm at my wit's end here. This thing is only 2 years old.

What model are the two drives you are using?

are your drives nearly full? i once copied a couple of files instead of moving, added torrent for 10+ gig file and saw a lot of freaky stuff when drives filled up.
