Title: DNS issue
Post by: morpheus305 on June 18, 2011, 09:53:51 AM
Just recently upgraded from the 4300 to the 4500. Basically I left the settings default for the most part for the initial setup just to see how things run. One problem im having though is after x amount of time i can no longer browse on the internet. This same problem happens on every machine connected to the router. I think it might be a dns issue cause on my main pc im still logged into game and that seems fine. So i don't lose the connection just something weird going on with internet settings i guess.

Is Advanced DNS Service enabled or disabled? Preferred is disabled.
Enable DNS relay.

Also if your problem stills continue just assign your DNS sever manually, that's the way I have it and the best way. Restart your PC after doing the step above or reset the network config on that machine.

Wait, so you have multiple computers, wired and wireless, and randomly all the computers EXCEPT 1 PC goes offline? And its that PC that your playing a game on? Makes me think your have some QOS or port forwarding rules pointed to that one PC that is causing the issue. Or the game your playing. If you have DNS enabled on the router and you have a issue with DNS on the router's end, it would effect all the PC's equally.  JMHO
