Anyone else had this problem?
All of a sudden the Bittorrent won't do downloads anymore. I input the Torrent location in the area which says 'Add Torrent from URL' and then I click the Add button or hit the Enter button. Then I get the pop up window that says 'Torrent URL has been sent' as usual.
But when I click the okay button to go onto the next step I no longer get the display of what I am trying to download with the Start button to proceed with downloading.
Tried many many times but it keeps saying no torrents have been loaded.
Only thing I've done different since my last download is install a new router and that shouldn't affect the DNS in this way.
I've gone so far as to do a Refresh, Reboot, Shutdown and even Re-install the Bittorrent on the DNS. Other than that the DNS is working fine.
Any ideas?

I have the same problem.
-
Same here too !!!!!
:'(

i was using google chrome to try and add a bit torrent file and it wouldn't let me, i could browse to the file and then when i click add, nothing would happen ... so i tried internet explorer and all is good .... have any of you tried a different browser at all?
-
I have tried both IE and Chrome and the result is the same.
-
I have tried both firefox an IE
I can add torrent from a file but not URL
-
Okay, I tried and re-installed the Bittorrent again using the Easysearch Utility 4.4.0.0.
But I also was using BitComet on my PC at the same time to DL some files. When I re-installed it my pc lost the connection and I went to restart the DL.
I then checked the Bitttorrent Application on the DNS and it was back.
After it finished the DL I tried another file with the DNS but it didn't work. Not sure what's going on. Trying to duplicate how I got it to work but now no success.

I cannot get my BT to activate, in Easy search it looks like its installing and sets up some directories but doesn't show up on Easy Search so that I can map it not can I access it from the ADMIN page
-
Oookay.
So far no luck getting the DNS Bittorrent to work with the URL download but it will work if I start a DL with the Bittorrent on my PC (sorry said BitComet the first time by mistake) and then use the Add Torrent from file feature instead using the Torrent file from the PC's download.
This means I have two Torrent DL's for the same file going on at the same time unless I stop either the DNS Bittorrent or the Bittorrent on my PC.
I do notice that the DL for the PC is somewhat faster than the DNS's DL.
*Oh yeah, the first time I discovered this I did not change the directories to which the DL's were going to on the PC's Bittorrent. I did however change it the 2nd time to DL to the same folders that the DNS uses so that I wasn't getting the same file again in a different folder.

I too cannot get the BT to work, it seems to create the directory structure but does not show up in easysearch or the control panel
I have 2x1.5tb drives, it worked before when I had 1 x 320gb drives
-
I still have this issue, after upgrade to firmware 1.06 BT worked as it should but for no reason known to me it just stopped after a few days. When I say stop I can't paste in a URL torrent anymore, I can start a torrent if I download it and load the file instead (via IE, Chrome doesn't work for me).
I have reinstalled the BT software, reset to factory default etc but it doesn't change anything.
Worth to meantion is that I can't install the BT 4.4 (easy search) version so I need to installed the BT4.2 version via the Mac installation instruction.
Anyone solved this issue with pasting URL torrents?
-
Rockafett,
Where is the Mac installation instruction?
-
Manual installation of BT client
ftp://ftp.dlink.se/Products/dns-products/dns-323/drivers_firmware/Mac_DNS-323_Bittorrent.ZIP
-
Thanks Rockafett! It works! BT is running on my DNS!
Rockafett,
Check the files in /sys/crfs/web_page/bt. Do they look like this?

Hi oMac
I don't run customized firmware, so I guess I can't check this.
-
My folder looks exactly like yours oMac. Same file sizes and modification times (well off by 2 hours, likely a timezone thing).
I went through the manual reinstall (had to delete the Nas_Prog folder as root first due to permissions settings).
I am now able to download a torrent file then browse to that file and it will work. But I can't put a url directly into it.
I think the manual install would work on a non-mac too. Just need to extract to the root of the Nas.
Better than nothin ;)

Oh this is interesting....
So I tried to bittorrent a file from the pirate bay:
This is officially released by Nine Inch Nails on the Pirate Bay:
http://torrents.thepiratebay.org/3712512/Nine_Inch_Nails_-_God_Given_multitrack_audio_files.3712512.TPB.torrent
So that url doesn't work.
I take that torrent file and upload it to my webserver:
http://www.protonstudio.com/Nine_Inch_Nails_-_God_Given_multitrack_audio_files.3712512.TPB.torrent
Guess what.... I can download from that url, maybe you guys who are having trouble can too....
Technically I am not sure how this could happen. Maybe the the piratebay url is failing the NAS regular expression test for a valid url somehow. It isn't likely blocked at the ISP level, since I can download the file directly. It also isn't likely the NAS firmware since it worked then just stopped without making any changes to the firmware...
Mysteries...

I can verify that your torrent URL work (load it as URL), but not the pirate bay one. Strange, something must differ but what?
-
Proton,
Did you try other sites like isohunt.com?
-
Ok, so the one thing that has changed with thepiratebay is that they implemented IPv6 addressing on January 19 which seems to coincide with the time I lost the ability to paste URLs into my DNS-323.
I fired up tcpdump last night to see what the 323 is requesting when I paste the URLs in. With protonsutdio.com the 323 queries the DNS server then downloads the torrent file, it's all good. However when I paste thepiratebay.org URL in, the 323 queries the DNS server, gets the IPv6 address back, waits a few seconds gets the IPv4 address then just stalls, it doesn't even try downloading the torrent file from TPB.
This morning I decided to make my DNS server act as master for thepiratebay.org for my internal network. I added only the IPv4 address for torrents.thepirate.org to the zone, restarted bind9 and guess what? The DNS-323 works perfectly just as before when I paste the URLs from TPB. So I have a temporary fix but we still need a permanent solution.
Bro.
