Title: Soo slow in router admin pages
Post by: mgarthune on June 26, 2011, 10:47:08 AM
I needed to immediately set a schedule and block IPs, these pages are built into the router.
It took forever for the pages to load it took 30 minutes to navigae 5 pages. Every time I try it.

Router is good and signal is excellent but the admin router pages to configure are frustratingly slow.
As a techie it is anoying, as a customer getting support by the hour spend more on a faster better quillity router were the work can be done in 1/20th of the time it takes on this router.

I'd say I have a dud but once setup the router is a great performer if you do not need to admin the router further

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2 and AES.

I am having this same problem on my DIR-615. The internet connection seems fine. Pages are loading quickly. However, each page I hit in the router's admin console takes 3-5 minutes to load.

This was not happening prior to today. Recently, I had been experiencing some connectivity and speed issues. I tested connecting directly to my cable model (Comcast) and it seem to fix the issue so I did a hard reset on my router (button on the back). Afterwards, the internet is fine, but the slowdown on the console has started to occur.

- Advanced DNS is off
- DNS Relay is ON
- Only one connection active - hardlined to the router - reserved IP configured

What browser are you using? Same thing happen if you try using Opera or FF?
