Title: DIR655 slow down uplink speed
Post by: churin on June 26, 2011, 02:44:49 PM
My DIR655 is A4 with firmware v.135.

My normal uplink speed is above 4 Mbps but the speed goes down to 0.4 to 0.8 Mbps. The above unit was received from D-Link as a replacement for the same reason, but it worked for at lease 12 hours.

If the power is OFF/ON cycled, the normal speed comes back but last only about 10 minutes.

Is there anyone experiencing this problem?

Hi Churin,

I would remove the D-Link Router, for 1 Day and just use the Modem. Measure the speeds again, without the D-Link Router and see what happens.

It could be the modem was the problem or it could be an outside line. I have no idea, because I don't know where you live or who your ISProvider is.

Don't always blame D-Link.

What ISP service do you have? DSL or Cable?
What ISP modem do you have? Stand alone or does it have a built in router by chance?
How are you connecting to the 655? Wired or Wireless?
What wireless modes are you running? Mixed? Single?

Setup Reserved (Static) IP addresses on the router for your devices.
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Ensure Advanced DNS Service is disabled if you have this option.
Ensure DNS Relay is enabled.
Try turning OFF all QOS options and test. Try with them ON.
