I'd like to replace the fan, but I don't know how to dismount this NAS without cracking it - could somebody help?

Switch it off then slide off the lid and remove the disks. that should give you room to get to the fan as mounted in the back. If it's faulty will it not still be under warranty?

I've removed the upper plastic lid and disk, but there is a steel plate all around and the fan is behind it. I need to open it like this: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/84/dns320fan005.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/84/dns320fan005.jpg)
Fan is not faulty, still working, but it is too noisy for me :) I'd like either to replace it or to give there voltage reduction.

I've tried this script to customize switching temperatures:

I've used first part only (fancontrol_dns320.sh) because I don't need graphs and I've also removed logging to file. It is working, but it is still using HDD so it prevents to use HDD Hibernation. That's why I think the fan replacement would be better.
