Title: Network Shares Problem
Post by: arnlao on July 06, 2011, 04:25:29 AM
I have 2 DCS-2121 Cameras which I want to record to my DNS-320.  However, each camera will write to a subdirectory called "video" by default, which will make it difficult to determine which video file was from which camera.

In order to assign each camera to a separate subdirectory, I created a subdirectory for each camera from Volume_1.  I then tried to create separate network shares for each camera but am having problems.  From Account Management > Network Shares > New > Step 1:Select Share Folder, I can only see Volume_1.  I cannot see the 2 new subdirectories I have created.  If I select Volume_1, a popup shows an error message "This folder already set share."

Appreciate if anybody can help out.  Thanks!

Have you updated the firmware to V2.0?

Yes, firmware version is on 2.00
I've also tried restarting several times as well as restore to factory default settings to no avail.

Try to remove access on Volume_1 first. Or you can add permision to only a specific account to Volume_1 and have full access to other folders. I had similar issues, when I had set up full access for multple folders.

Hi,

I had exactly the same problem which resulted in me posting a rather embarrassing question to another DND-320 forum asking whether additional shares were possible!

If you hover the mouse over the 'Volume_1' text within the new share window, wait a second or so, and then click it, rather than ticking the box next to it, you should find all the sub folders drop down and you can tick the folder you want to share.

Hope this helps..

Thanks Bloat.  That solved my problem (which turned out to be not a problem).  Now I'm embarrassed.  :-[
Also my thanks to everybody who took the time to reply!

Don't be embarrassed, this happened to me also and took several hours stumbling around before I figured it out. It's not exactly intuitive.
