Log into the routers web page and don't use the Wizard.
Go to Basic and Wireless and set up an SSID name for the WiFi.
Change the WiFi mode from Mized to Single mode G or Mized G and N if you have N supported devices.
Set Band to 2.4Ghz

Set Security for the WiFi to WPA2 and use AES. If you don't have devices that support WPA2 and AES only, Set WPA or WPA2 and use Auto TPIK and AES.
Give a password that you'll remember under PASSCODE.

Ensure to set a password for the Admin log in to the router as well, under Tools/Admin. This is different from the WiFi password.

Need to check with MFR on what is supported. Most devices support G minimum. I have a Mac book Pro and it supports N and it's a 2008 model. I presume your MBPs should support N. Not sure about your HP though.

One way to check it out. Set the router to N only with out any security and see if they connect and get on the Internet. If they all do then you'll know. If one doesn't then fall back to Mixed G and N mode.
