Title: Doesnt see devices ....every so often.
Post by: edcarp293 on July 10, 2011, 01:19:16 PM
I am using DIR-615 wireless router, FW 5.10.  I use Time Warner Road Runner.  I connect my lap top and Ipad through the wireless router. My lap top and ipad will not see the wireless network name to connect to.  I go to the desktop and access my DIR-615 wireless router and save my settings "without changes".  And the devices then see the wireless network name and connect.  This happens at least once a day.  I started the logging and today it happened around 11:00 a.m., and there is nothing logged for today.  The router will work excellent for 8 hours or so; then this happens.  Once it happened as I was using my laptop.  When this happens I can connect to the internet on the desktop.  I have no cordless phones.

Thank you for any advice you may offer,
Ed

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any cordless house phones?
Any other WiFi routers in the area?

Possible interferrence. Check channels settings, try different ones. Use InSSIDer to see what channel other routers are using and then change accordingly.
