Title: DIR-825 A1 won't accept firmware
Post by: michaelkahl on July 12, 2011, 06:53:19 PM
I  have a Dir-825 Hardware Revision A1.  I downloaded the latest firmware for this router, 1.13A but it will not accept the file.  I've tried over and over and it will not accept the file.  I'm currently using version 1.01.

I'm logged in as Admin
The PC uploading the PC is connected via a wired connection.
I've downloaded multiple copies of the file.
When trying to have the router check for an update it comes back reporting that the firmware is up to date.

What's really frustrating is that I'm having an issue with UNIX based systems, Android/iOS/OS X.  Most of the time I'm not able to reach youtube, android market, or other google service (with the exception of www.google.com).  When I set my MBP to use google's DNS servers instead of the router it connects with no problem.  Unfortunately I can't manually set Google DNS servers on the Android or iOS devices without setting a static IP...not a solution so I won't do it.

Any help would be appreciated.

After downloading the file, you did unpack the .bin file from the .zip file right?
What region is this router in?

Recommended FW updates process:
Save current configuration to file if you have many settings.
Factory reset
Update FW using the .bin file
Factory reset once more.
Test.
Reload saved configuration file if needed.
