Title: Is there a DIR-655 for Dummies?
Post by: cheapherk on January 26, 2009, 02:22:29 PM
Just bought the DIR-655 last night.  I have it working.  The configuration options are overwhelming.  Is there somewhere I can go for details on what I want to enable/disable, etc?

For example, I play a lot of multiplayer games.  What ports do I need to forward?  How do I use QOS to optimize my online gaming?  Too many other questions to list.

I need a good place to look for reference for someone who's not network savvy.

For the router: check the PDF manual and the Help screens inside the router setup
For portforwarding and games (ports use): check Games forums and http://portforwarding.com

Always a good thing: search the DIR655 forum posts (a lot of info there)
