My DIR-655 wireless router randomly quit working. It was plugged into my modem and working great, then it just stopped. I restarted my modem and router, but the "Ethernet" light on my modem does NOT shine when plugged into the router.
I'm sure that the modem is fine, as I have it connected to my PC right now. I also tried it with my friend's wireless router - works fine.
I believe this may be hardware-related. I have tried restoring the router to factory settings and then setting up everything again: No luck.
Does anybody know of a possible solution to this problem? I haven't had this router for long! Just a little over two years I believe (or it may be just a little over one). I have another wireless router somewhere that's 6-7 years old and still works. If it is hardware related (as in the router just randomly broke), then rest assured I will not be purchasing another D-Link router in the future.
Thank you

What HW version is your router?
What FW version is currently loaded?
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
Swap out cables between modem and router to be sure...Cat6 is preferred. Shortest length possible.
