Do you still get internet over the wireless connection?

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? WEP, WPA or WPA2? Preferred is WPA2 and Cipher type to AES only if your device support this.

Was the router working before doing the FW update? Just curious.
It's recommended not to update FW if the router is working out of the box.

I presume that you can't go back to old FW if the old FW was v1.xx or someting long those lines. Sorry just the way it is. No sure why the LED isn't blinking for activity. They might have just turned in ON always to denote that the WiFi radio is on and left out blinking for activity.

Does the WiFi light go out if you shut off the wifi radio using the routers web page under Setup/Wireless/Manual? Then back on ?

Could call Dlink and ask. Don't think this is a bug as more of a feature of the router that they may have turned off.

Is your DIR-600 a B5 hardware version?
One can tell that the firmware is meant for the B5 version from the file name, also it's suppose to come with a pdf with the documentation.
