Title: Shareport limitations?
Post by: CappyD on January 28, 2009, 08:12:10 AM
Does Shareport limit the connected drive in any way such as file system type (NTFS, FAT, etc.) or disk size?  I plugged in a 1G thumb drive formatted FAT and had no problems, but want to connect a 1T drive, probably formatted NTFS.  Thanks.

Thanks!  It's nice of D-Link to add this functionality.  Cheaper, ultimately, than getting a NAS.  I hope I can get enough throughput to stream movies off of a connected drive.  I got about 4 MBps download from my USB thumb drive test and see others got about that, with you getting a higher 9 MBps.  Not in the typical NAS range, but maybe good enough.
