I've been running for a year (in a home office) with the entire drive password protected so no one without the password has acccess, since the drives have confidential info.
I want to make part of the drive open and not password protected, so that I can load movies and access them with a Sony SMP-N100 Network Media Player. (I have tested by turning paswords off that it can access the DNS321)
I started by creating a new group and trying to give it read access to a folder and get stuck cause it only lets me select the volume name for the folder. Even if that works, it looks like I cant create a group without a user or a user without a password and I dont think the Sony has a way of logging in with a username/password
