What HW version is your router?
What FW version is currently loaded?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

Check out the DGL-4500 forum for XBL game setup. Has DIR router setup as well.

Turn off QoS options. You mean the http://192.168.0.1/Advanced/Traffic_Shaping.shtml ? See below.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option. ( dont think i have this options? ) This will be under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking. ( its ON )

I would review the DGL-4500 XBL sticky. This will help you configure QoS correctly.
FIREWALL : Anti-Spoof checking OFF... correct? Can be on or off.
ADVANCE  NETWOrK : Multicast Streams ON.. Correct ? Yes

You are using QoS settings and not Port Forwarding correct? You only need to use QoS rules for XBL.

Ok so i dont need to setup Port Forwarding Rules ? I have right now setup Port Forwarding Rules + QoS Engine ? So let me know if that is wrong..?

NO you don't need Port Forwarding. Delete those options. You only need QoS.

Post by: Straka76 on July 29, 2011, 12:18:55 PM
Ok. so its only port 3074 and 53 i need on QoS Engine?
Local Port Range 3074 to 3074
Remote Port Range 3074 to 3074

And same with 53?

Local IP Range IP XXX to XXX same ip right?

Correct..Use the remote IPs listed for the Gamefuel options. 65.52.0.0 to 65.55.255.255. Those are MS servers only. Let me know if they won't enter into the 655 router.

I have now add 65.52.0.0 to 65.55.255.255 on both 3074 + 53.
more i need to do?

About WAN Traffic Shaping

Automatic Uplink Speed : I have this enable does that make a diff?
Connection Type : i have that set to auto, does that make a diff?

Whats your UP load package speed? I usually manually set UP speed to about 1024K above what you actually have, give some overhead to play with. So if you have 1024 Up, I set for 2048 and so on.

Enable Traffic Shaping ON.
Connection Type: Manually set for DSL or Cable, which ever you have.
Enable QoS Engine ON
Automatic Classification ON
Dynamic Fragmentation OFF

i have 2 UP. So then i need to set it to 2048? but i have only like 1851kbps "overhead"

Load up Reach or Black Ops or a game that gives network status. It will tell you. Should say NAT: Open

Doesn't the XBL test (http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-live/troubleshoot/connection-issues/nat-type-strict.aspx) see it?

I have now played with the settings for 2 days. but there is still lag/delay in the play its so heavy to play with, and the funny thing is that every player i play with, seems to be alot faster then me does not matter if i host the game or not. when i test the NAT on XBL test then ALL are green. But still damn strange i have this heavy lag/delay. Its on LAN.

Do i go over to wireless then its not so heavy, but then its more ustabil , Like when you take a shoot, then its like the shot not go 100% correct, and the same on pass.

iam lost. I dont know what to do. :'(

Might need to check out your settings on the router if you want too via teamviewer.com.

You will see some lag however if other players are ok and your not, might be something on the router.

you and run it or install it...when you see the window that has a ID and password, you can send that to another user so they can connect to your pc.

Not to hijack this thread but I have multiple xbox 360 in my household connected Wired and had a question.  I take it I don't need port forwarding but if using QoS I should specify port 53 and 3074 with priority 1.  Now having multiple xbox systems can I just specify in QoS port 53 and 3074 to my home network dhcp range ex xxx.xxx.xxx.20 to xxx.xxx.xxx.50 or should I specify a rule for each xbox 360?

What I'm talking about for each 360 is reserve their addresses and then set rule 1 and 2 53-3074 for the first xbox 360 and then rules 3-4 a repeat of one and two for the second xbox system.

Or should I just add a rule for each xbox 360 giving them priority 1 and 2 for all ports?
