Can anyone at D-Link comment on when the beta phase for the updated DNS-325 firmware will end and the 'gold'/RTW versions of the new firmware will be released? Ditto for the updated plugins. Is anyone home over there? If you could provide an approximate timeline that would be much appreciated. Thanks. -thw

We are going to be waiting for a while, there is nobody there to help.

D-Link typically does not communicate the release date of new firmware releases, nor are the users in this forum privy to D-Link's release schedule for firmware updates. I've seen firmware updates ranging from several weeks to almost a year apart.
Newer products typically have faster release dates for firmware updates.

"nor are the users in this forum privy to D-Link's release schedule for firmware updates. I've seen firmware updates ranging from several weeks to almost a year apart."
Ergo, my original question to D-Link. But unfortunately it does appear that nobody is currently staffed to respond, so we wait.

There was a D-Link employee who frequently provided release date information in these forums, but he recently left D-Link for other employment. The information we come across is at the moderators' convenience, and apparently is not something they are required to offer.

I feel confused over the release version of the firmware. The original fro 2010 has the same version identifier in the file name as the version released 4/11/2011. Another topic in this forum claimed that the new firmware now supports a 3T hard drive instead of just 2T. So, should I expect a new revision number later in sequence than the old? And how shall I know whether my DNS-325 has the new or old if they have the same version number.
Excuse me, but this confusion over version numbers seems inexcusable.

You can download the latest firmware for the DNS-325 here: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns325/
In the root directory you will find the latest public firmware release (v1.01). The "beta" folder contains the a directory containing the latest beta firmware (v1.02).

And can anyone comment on when we're going to get a fix for the OS X 10.7 Lion Time Machine issues?

Please oh please oh please get a fix for the 3 TB drives. I just got a unit and installed 3 TB Hitachi drives, mirrored. I loaded 1.02 Beta code on it. The system says it has 3 TB of space from the web interface, but reports to my host that it has only 699 GB. I can't use most of the space, but I don't want to wipe and reload my system to carve it up into many small shares! HELP!!!

D-link management, you've lost a customer I'm afraid. My DNS-325 now resides in my eBay pile. The lack of progress on fixes and extensions for this device have left me underwhelmed. Too bad, because I had high hopes. If you want to build a NAS & add-on business, head over to QNAP or Synology and see how it's done. (PS - I'm not trying to troll or incite a riot -- just giving some feedback). Cheers!

D-Link will eventually circle back and update the firmware for this product, the DNS-325 isn't all that old. It just takes patients and time.
