Me too, I only get anonymous email to work, which cant get past my spam filter b/c the email isnt signed.

I haven't tried it with a gmail account yet but might do that

SMTP signed doesn't work, Anonymous does

In our area it is eastlink or aliant

I just tried the test again to be sure and it is working.

Make certain that your smtp setting is the one given to you by your ISP
Some ISP will block the mail port so mail can only be sent through their server.

If I am at a client , using my laptop and I want to send an email I have to change to their providers smtp server or the email will be blocked.

hey Thomas, thanks for letting me know ... i have my own domain which didn't work so i tried another company and figured my isp was blocking the port so tried my isp and no go again ... i will have to try again and see, the error of Test: Failure doesn't help at all, would be nice for dlink to be a little more specific ..

These are my settings

        Login Method : Anonymous
     SMTP Server : smtp.eastlink.ca
     Sender E-mail :     "MYACCOUNT"@eastlink.ca
     Receiver E-mail :     "MYACCOUNT"@eastlink.ca

How are you emailing from your computer ?
Are you using web based email or an email client on your computer ?
If you are using an email client, the same outgoing server should work in the dns323.

ya i tried the same, both anonymous and authentication with no luck,

my settings are:

SMTP Server : smtp.vianet.ca
Sender E-mail :     "MYACCOUNT"@vianet.ca
Receiver E-mail :     "MYACCOUNT"@vianet.ca

i use ms outlook as my mail client .... i know it should be very simple, i have my linksys router setup to sent me notifications and it works fine so no idea what is going on with the 323 ....

http://vianet.ca/system.php

Here are a list of all your servers to use
smtp.vianet.ca should work unless you are in 3 unique areas and it is
shawsmtp.vianet.ca
cogecosmtp.vianet.ca

where are you located?

I still cant get my ACCOUT email notification to work, Anoymous does work for me but gets caught in my spam filter

here are my servers from primus
http://www.primustel.ca/en/support/residential/internet/troubleshooting/server-addresses.htm

LOGIN METHOD   ACCOUNT
USERNAME     UR@primus.ca
p/w    email password
SMTP SERVER   SMTP.PRIMUS.CA
SENDER EMAIL    US@primus.ca
RECEIVER EMAIL US@primus.ca

Anythoughts?

can't you put in a rule for the spam filter to allow the sender email through?  if you do that everything from that email should come through and then you can set it up anonymous ..

Is it your computer's spam filter or ISP spam filter ?

If it is ISP try anonymous again

Enter smtp and both sender and receiver as your email.

This link will show how to set ISP spam filter to let your email through.

http://www.primustel.ca/en/support/residential/internet/email/spam-control.htm (http://www.primustel.ca/en/support/residential/internet/email/spam-control.htm)

It is half way down the page
The heading is "Remove or Deliver Email Messages"
You can add your email address to the exception rule

If it still does not work try to send an email to yourself from your email client and see if that works

This does not make any sense.
If the headers are missing how could it find your account ?

If you would like , you could PM me with your email address and I can put your address in my dns323 and send a test email to your address.

I have sent an email to myself from my email client and compared the headers with the one from the dns and I cannot see any difference.

When I try to put it in my safe list I get this. No Address found in Sender box

but I clearly put an email address into the dns dlink@primus.ca

You are sending from dlink@primus.ca

Could it be that primus checks it's own server and that address does not exits in the system.

I have my email address in both fields
 from ME to ME

Hi,
I am just chipping in my experience. I tried and succeeded as follows:
Login Method :      Account  Anonymous
         User Name :     [email name]@gmail.com
Password :     [your password for this account]
     SMTP Server :     smtp.gmail.com
     Sender E-mail :     [email name]@gmail.com

I hope it works for you. Good luck.

But I am having trouble setting up the printer under WinXP. Can anybody help. Thanks.

Hello,

I have test your solutions but I have again a test failure.
My parameters are :

Login Method :      Account
         User Name : *****@gmail.com
         Password :     *****
     SMTP Server :     smtp.gmail.com
     Sender E-mail :     ****@gmail.com

My DNS  is connect to a DGL 4300. Should be write rules for smtp transfert ?

You should not need to open any ports for your email. Check the DNS settings on the DNS-323 make sure they properly reflects your routers settings. Of that does not work try entering your routers IP address for the Primary DNS and 4.2.2.2 for your Secondary DNS. Check you see if you are double NAT'ed on your router in the Status page. The WAN IP address should not start with 192.168.xxx.xxx.

This is what I have, how should it change?

Subnet Mask:     255.255.255.0
Gateway IP Address:     192.168.X.X
Mac Address:     00:1E:58:9B:XX:F9
DNS1:     216.254.XXX.13
DNS2:     209.90.XXX.220
