Title: unable to connect to sharecenter interface
Post by: bf1970 on August 05, 2011, 06:43:16 AM
Hi,

I'm having a problem connecting to my dns320. For some reason it's not accepting my password.
I can access the hdd thru network but can't access the ui. Any ideas?

If you forgot your password, you can hold down the reset button on the rear of the DNS-320 to restore the factory default settings. This should not impact your HDDs or data.

In the future, you should download a copy of your configuration (i.e. settings) file once you have the DNS-320 setup the way you like. This way you can easily restore the settings in the future.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I have pressed the reset button a few times but still can't get into the UI - it doesn't seem to reset the password.

I can still access the drive but can't amend any settings, p2p, password, users etc.

Any other ideas?

You need to hold the reset button for more than 5 seconds to force the reset.

I've depressed the reset button kept it pressed in, pulled out the power supply kept pressed for a few seconds, plugged back in.

Have also just pressed the reset without unplugging. I'll try it again later and report back.

Not too much info available about this, it's probably something really simple, have even tried to reformat the drives but the install won't work as the password is wrong apparently. I tend to use the same couple of password combinations and always check CAPs lock is off, so I'm pretty stuck :(

The web interface login and firmware are completely independent of the HDDs. You don't need to reformat your HDDs.

Pressing and holding the button while the power is on should do the trick. If that doesn't work, call the D-Link customer support 800 number (the wait isn't that long) and they can walk you through the factory default reset process.
