Has anybody played with this new version? It is just out. I will be looking into it, but need to set up a test-bed again to find how good/bad this new version is...
Any experience already?

Set it up on a test-machine with 2 cams. Looks more or less the same as 3.11, no real differences in options, button-layout a little different, like the playback slider, and some camera-movement buttons in the Monitor are incorporated into the status-part of the screen.
- Installation, even though it un-installs previous version, keeps all previous settings and cameras
- Missing are the release-notes, 3.2 specific user guide... Taiwan version does have some form of release-notes, but very small and cryptic.
- Missing is also still the multi-channel playback, even though Playback supports playback for up to 4 (choice is either 1 or 4 cameras) local cameras. The "Exceed the Playback maximum channels" error-message is still there.
- Still testing multi channel Remote Live Viewer (remote playback probably has same lack of multi-channel playback support)
- Delete of video (via backup) does not clear up Record.log timing-info, i.e. activity bar in selection remains, but without recorded video. V3.11 cleaned this file up correctly after backup/delete...
- Delete of old videos does not clean out empty folders when nothing is left (i.e. old recording dates). V3.11 cleaned this up correctly.
- Playback.exe coredumps after high number of load-play actions within one session (like loading 30 minutes, viewing that and then getting next 30 minutes, and so on, and so forth), roughly about 10 cycles. Sounds to me like a memory-leak in progress.
- At startup of Console a pop-up appears, with optimisation-hint of using same storage-drive as OS-installed drive. This cannot be suppressed, and hampers auto-reboot-startup of Console.
- Backup (not Export) now gives feedback of files copied into Backup-set, including required OK-press at end. Not very fast, and not suppressable.
- Backup- (and Playback-) Time-period selection now allows only 7 days max period. Was 30 days in 3.11
- With a large amount of free space left (hundreds of GB) it complains of lack of space, cleans up most stored recording data and stops scheduler. Happens on multiple boxes, mostly only once after upgrade, but is very annoying
- UAC is required to be off before Console can be run, even though all data-paths are personalized to acceptable locations. Workaround is to run it in a VM environment where UAC can be off.
This is a work in progress...

What is the path to the new version?

Thanks, got it! Didn't realize D-ViewCam had a directory in the root of Multimedia.

A couple of users experienced issues installing the new software. Since some installs succeeded, while others failed, I was thinking that the installation package may be missing files for certain versions of Windows and hardware configurations.
What OS are you running?

I have installed V3.2 on Vista HomPrem 32 and 64, and on W7 32 and 64, none of them have any issues, same as 3.11. Not a problem.
EDIT: Did notice a complaint during installation on libexpat-overwriting, where UAC was still enabled during setup... This was when doing an upgrade from V3.11 (duh!)...

I installed D-ViewCam on Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit). No installation errors, no exceptions.

In version 3.11 Remote Live Viewer multi-channel was possible by creating a server for each camera but now with 3.2 it is IMPOSIBLE. >:( >:(
Please Help! ???

I will try to simulate your solution to multi-channel Remove Live View, will give you feedback on process...

Was away for a bit. Will try shortly

installed on XP Pro and win7 with no problems at all; remote viewing 5 cams. Can't see any differences between 3.0 and 3.2. jeff

Juste tried that new version and I can't believe the awful handling of Windows security and UAC still hasn't been improved one bit, shame on you D-Link !

Added one extra once-off (mostly) bug, where V3.2 complains (during recording) that system is low on diskspace, cleans out most recorded data and stops scheduler. There is ample space left, so unclear where this comes from. It happens both in percentage threshold level and days to keep recording (set to 365 to test).
This bug occurs mostly only once after install/upgrade (1 machine of 5 multiple times), but is quite annoying when you cannot trust the system to keep recording.
There is a workaround on the UAC: VMWare. I have created VM's of my environment and run those with UAC off. There is a trade-off, naturally, as performance is less than running it native, but UAC is something I will not let go...
