After MUCH struggle, I finally got the DSL-320b DSL Modem & DIR-855 wireless router working together. And it all works well for 1-2 days.
Then, suddenly for no apparent reason, the router stops talking to the modem through the WAN link - and all of my PC's lose connectivity to the Internet. Why? The 1.10 firmware release July08 claimed to have fixed the compatibility between the two, but clearly there are still a few bugs/problems in this pair to sort out?
Sometimes rebooting the DIR-855 fixes the Internet connectivity, but thereafter I can never log-in to the modem (192.168.1.1) - the browser just hangs for ages and says it cannot connect.
The ONLY way I've found, so far, to get it all working properly is to reboot BOTH the modem & the router, but this is annoying because British Telecom reads constant drops on the ADSL line as being due to an unstable ADSL sync and lowers my ADSL performance.
Any ideas?
Thanks

There is definitely a bug here somewhere. After 3-4 days, access to the web interface at 192.168.1.1 gets slower and slower until I can no longer log into the dsl-320b modem web interface until it has been rebooted.

Do you have the modem bridged?

No. I connected the units as described on p10 of the DIR-855 user manual. This procedure actually never worked for me before, until after I upgraded the DIR-855 to 1.12EU firmware (Nov 2008 release). I didn't follow the continuation instructions on p13 to use the DIR-855 setup CD, I just set it up manually using the recommended option DHCP client and it just works - except that after about Day 4, I could no longer log-in to the DSL modem.
The DIR-855 has been rebooted once since Day 1 and it just re-connected with the DSL Modem with no bother, but I still can't log in to the DSL-320B - I won't be able to until, and unless I reboot the DSL modem.

you'll need to bridge the modem.
How

Why does not being bridged cause my dsl-320b web interface to slow down over 3 days to the point where you can't log in to it at all?
