Title: Problem - VoIP / Port Forward / DMZ
Post by: leungda on August 19, 2011, 12:49:44 PM
I am using DIR-655 before and now, I want to upgrade it to DIR-665. After I upgrade to DIR-655, I set it up using DIR-655 setting (identical setting), Port forwarding, DMZ, Wireless and LAN, etc.

After finish setup, my VoIP server no longer work. iphone doesn't work with Channel Wide (AUTO mode) wireless.

I put the VoIP server to DMZ. Doesn't work.

I replaced my old DIR-655. Everything work fine. I don't know what is the problem. ???

Now, I put the DIR-665 aside and wait for firmware update. Disppointed.

NO DIR-665 forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?
If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems.

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Are the Application Level options all checked under Firewall?
What is this VoIP? Does it use additional HW to connect? Are there any specific Ports the VoIP uses?

The 665/660 and 655 are similar in features and UI, so you probably wont see a 665 forum. You could post in the 660 forum.

Hi,

Make sure the SIP box is unchecked for Filtering in the ALG section of the Firewall settings....  When I had SIP box checked, it interfered with my vonage box and Faxing especially thru the vonage box....
