:-\ Has anyone had trouble getting the DNS-323 to power down please? I have to hard shut down mine...it does not respond to having the button held in and then start flashing like it used to.
Naturally this hard failure seems to make it tough for Vista 64 to find it the next time I power it on.
Was able to upgrade to Firmware 1.09 and backup files yesterday, but the ongoing reliability and accessibility of this product has not been good.
Any guidance please?
At this point, I would not buy this again.

Powering it off should have nothing to do with finding it again when it is powered on.
Have you tried shutting down using the admin console?

The power switch on the front of my DNS-323 has to also be pushed down toward the bottom when used. You might try moving the button while pressing on it.

Hmmm, mine just pushes straight in like a regular contact switch. Not that I use it much.

Hi, Thanks for the courtesy of your reply re: power down. For the life of me I cannot find soft shut down menu in the Admin GUI. The info about changing the way you pushed the button helped. Your method is probably more reliable if you can take a sec to tell me where to find it.
Log in to the Admin GUI under "Configuration" (not "Applications")
Select Tools from the top menu
Select System from the side menu
Select either Restart or Shutdown depending on what you want to do

I have a used 323 that I recently bought and it does not respond well to the switch, I have to hold it in for a while, and try several times. I also have a dns321 (for comparison) and it works fine.
